Episode 147: Making sense of Lent with Lacy Finn Borgo

  • by

How do we make sense of Lent this year? To help us we have a great interview with our friend Lacy Finn Borgo. She talks about allowing hope to bloom, about naming our losses, why the Christian life is cruciform and why smashing a plate might help. Also we’ve hit a snag about Lee Abbey, Joe seems to have given up doing good introductions for Lent and Nick is talking a load of old collops.

  1. Hi , love your podcasts, they give much food for thought. I don’t know if you have seen this reflection before from Pope Francis about Lent. I try and look at it each day in Lent.
    Keep up the good work

    POPE FRANCIS’ WORDS FOR LENT:
Do you want to fast this Lent?
Fast from hurting words & say kind words,
Fast from sadness & be filled with gratitude,
Fast from anger & be filled with patience,
Fast from pessimism & be filled with hope,
Fast from worries & trust in God,
Fast from complaints & contemplate simplicity,
Fast from bitterness & fill your heart with joy,
Fast from pressures & be prayerful,
Fast from bitterness & fill your heart with joy,
Fast from selfishness & be compassionate to others,
Fast from grudges & be reconciled,
Fast from words & be silent so you can listen.
